ARTIST GABRIELE BRUNNER

Painter and sculptor in Tyrol

Gabriele Brunner, born 1963 in Zams, lives and works in Pfunds in Tyrol. As a trained decorator, the artist, who is closely connected to her homeland, was able to live out her sense for creativity even in younger years. Drawing and painting has always been a special passion, which only intensified for Gabriele Brunner in later years and was cultivated until she was ready to exhibit. At the same time, her affinity for three-dimensional works of art developed; the first of eight monumental steel-made sculptures was created in 2014. Execution of Gabriele Brunner’s STAHL.H.ART sculptures took place in her own metal construction workshop in Pfunds. The works of art are accessible for viewing and contemplating on the ARTWALK of Hotel Auriga in Lech am Arlberg.

Metal-made art on the mountain

STAHL.H.ART sculptures

Working with metal posed very interesting challenges for Gabriele Brunner. Creative work is required on several levels from the artistic idea to its realisation. Granting the hard and blunt metal with ease and motion is a special feature of the Gabriele Brunner’s sculptures. Execution, statics, transport and assembly require substantial manual skill through which husband Hubert Brunner facilitates the realisation of the artistic vision.

Hotelier Ingo Strolz has been the congenial partner for the conception of the sculptures for many years. He came up with the idea leading to the creation of the ARTWALK at his Hotel Auriga in Lech am Arlberg allowing the art path to grow organically.

The mountains as a source of inspiration

Gabriele Brunner – art from Tyrol

The alpine province of Tyrol with its breathtaking mountain peaks and diverse nature is both the home and inspiration for artist Gabriele Brunner. In her work, the wife and mother of three engages not only with life in the mountains, the environment, and the tension between tradition and innovation, but also the big social issues of our time.
